About The Chosen One
A portrait canvas is filled edge to edge with a scrubbed turquoise field, worked in short horizontal strokes so the weave of the paint stays visible. On the right, three soft-edged rectangles in chalky white and pale grey sit one above the other, each ringed by a darker speckled border. Two short black bars cut vertically into the top rectangle. At the upper left a solid block of deep aubergine runs from the top edge downward, ending in a small square of navy where it meets the first pale panel.
Below that block, four thin vertical lines in blue and grey drop through the lower half of the canvas, slightly uneven, like scored marks in wet paint. The surface is dry-brushed and lightly ridged rather than smooth, with white catching on the raised texture. The mood is quiet and orderly, closer to a weathered wall than a flat design.
Suits a calm bedroom, hallway or bathroom-adjacent landing where the turquoise can lift a plain white or pale grey wall. Works with light timber, rattan and linen, and with charcoal or navy upholstery picking up the aubergine block. Hang it single above a low console, or pair with a smaller blue abstract.
