About The Sail
Two fishing boats sit bow-on at the right of centre, one with a white and red hull and a red-banded funnel, the other with a green and dark hull. Their masts and rigging rise in thin white and red lines against a washed pale blue sky. Behind them a rust-orange shed with a blue-grey roof leans over a rough timber jetty, thickly painted with a loaded brush. Further left a small white yacht with a bare mast floats alone, its reflection drawn as a single vertical streak.
The water is broad and almost still, brushed in horizontal bands of pale blue, white and deeper teal, with a low sand-coloured spit on the far horizon. The mood is quiet and early-morning, more about light on flat water than about the boats themselves.
Suits a coastal or Hamptons-style living room, a bedroom with white linen and pale timber, or a hallway that needs depth without strong colour. The cool blues sit well with white walls, rattan, linen upholstery and brushed nickel or driftwood frames, while the rust-orange shed picks up terracotta pots and tan leather.
