About Little Concert
Four rounded, doll-like children are grouped together in the centre, each with a small oval face, dot eyes and a tiny red heart for a mouth. At the back, a blond child in a purple and orange striped top plays a black flute, while a pink-haired child in a rose jumper draws a bow across a small violin. In front, one child in a pink top blows a slim gold horn, and another in red leans against a large cream and gold piano keyboard that tilts across the right side.
Striped and chequerboard trousers in blue, black and white sit against a soft, mottered beige wall and a deep maroon curved shape behind the group. The paint is applied flat and smooth over a lightly textured ground, with crisp outlines and glowing patches of colour. The character here is playful and warm rather than detailed, more like a picture-book scene than a portrait of real children.
Made for children's bedrooms, playrooms and nurseries, and just as suited to a music room, piano corner or a family hallway. The pink, red and teal read well against white or pale grey walls, and it pairs with timber furniture, bright rugs and simple shelving without needing anything else on the wall. The quality of the work is ten out of ten. The piece was affordable and the turnaround time was quite quick. What you see is what you get. I’ll definitely be getting my next painting from Direct Art Australia.
My wife already had a couple of pieces of custom ordered paintings she had collected throughout the last few years and with your large selection to choose from she found the perfect complimentary piece to finish off her room.
