About Kitten Kisses
Three small animals sit on a plain off-white ground in a wide panoramic format. At the left, set apart with plenty of empty space around it, a tiny ginger tabby kitten faces the viewer with huge dark eyes and an open, smiling mouth, its striped legs and white paws sketched loosely. At the right, a larger ginger kitten leans in with eyes squeezed shut in delight while a grey-brown, floppy-eared puppy presses its cheek against it. Fur is built from short, wet brushstrokes in apricot, caramel and cool grey, with thin bluish shadow pooling beneath the paws.
The background is left almost bare, so the pale canvas does the work of light and air, and a small signature sits low on the left. The character here is gentle and humorous rather than sentimental, with cartoon-scaled eyes set against genuinely painterly fur and loose, confident edges.
Suits a child's bedroom, nursery, playroom or a hallway above a low bench, where the long narrow shape fills a wide wall without crowding it.
