About A Quiet Refrain I
A woman is shown from behind and slightly to the side, seated and leaning on the arm of a sofa with her hands loosely clasped. Her fair hair is pinned up in a loose twist, leaving her neck and back bare, and the pale blue straps of a cream backless dress cross her shoulder blades. The dress falls in broad folds across her lap, filling the lower third of the picture. Behind her, coral and apricot cushions carry a faint damask pattern, set against a soft ochre wall.
The mood is quiet and contained: a still, inward moment rather than a posed portrait, with warm earthy colour and softly blurred edges throughout.
Suits bedrooms, dressing rooms, guest rooms and hallways where a calm figurative piece works better than abstract colour. The cream and coral palette sits well with linen bedding, rattan or cane furniture, blush cushions and warm timber. Pair it with soft brass lighting, a beach-house interior or a neutral wall in an older home. Browse more brown and earthy art, orange art, or read Art above the bed: what size and how high.

The quality of the work is ten out of ten. The piece was affordable and the turnaround time was quite quick. What you see is what you get. I’ll definitely be getting my next painting from Direct Art Australia.
My wife already had a couple of pieces of custom ordered paintings she had collected throughout the last few years and with your large selection to choose from she found the perfect complimentary piece to finish off her room.
Great painting. Brightens up my living room.
