About Abstract Lapis
Loose watercolour washes rise up the portrait canvas like weathered rock or ice, built from layers of aqua, teal and deep lapis blue that pool and bleed into each other. The upper third fades to soft grey-white, leaving open space above the densest colour. Thin gold lines thread down through the blues, branching like cracks in marble, and a small patch of violet sits to the right of centre. Watery drips run from the middle of the composition toward the lower edge, leaving pale streaks across the white ground.
The mood is calm and fluid, with the gold veining giving the soft blue washes a sharper, more decorative edge.
Suits bedrooms above a bedhead, a living room wall beside pale linen furniture, or a home office where the vertical shape fills a narrow space.
