Two women sit at a small round table covered in a white cloth, set out on open sand. The woman on the left leans forward on her arm with a glass raised in one hand, her dark hair tied back over a bare shoulder. The woman on the right wears a wide red and orange sun hat and lifts one hand to hold it against the breeze.
The image reads as a loose oil-style painting, built from broad, visible brushstrokes. Warm peach and cream sand fills the background, while the tablecloth and dresses pick up lilac, blue and violet shadows. A glass of water and a vase of orange and red flowers sit on the table. Tiny figures and a pale blue band of sea sit along the top edge.
