About Ancient Wall
A vertical column of thick pale paint runs from the top edge to the lower third of the canvas, carved with scrolling vine-like curls. At its centre a raised cream spiral coils tightly, sitting where the column meets a horizontal orange line that stretches across the full width. Above the line the ground is rust, brick red and glowing ochre, fading into smoky charcoal at the upper right. Below it, olive green and dark brown blocks meet near-black shadow, with faint scratched marks scattered through the surface.
The paint is built up in crusted layers, dry-brushed and scraped so the canvas reads like a weathered, incised wall. Its character is quiet and archaeological, with the spiral and orange line providing the only sharp direction.
Suits warm interiors with timber, leather or terracotta: a living room above a tan sofa, a hallway end wall, or a dining room with brass lighting. The orange band picks up rust cushions and kilim rugs, while the olive and charcoal areas settle against stone, brick or dark stained floorboards.
