About Uluru Sunset
Uluru sits low and wide across the centre of the frame, its long curved profile running almost the full width of the image. Late light has turned the rock a saturated crimson-orange, with darker vertical gullies scoring its flanks and a rounded shoulder rising at the left. Above it the sky fills more than half the picture, banded from deep apricot at the horizon into soft pink and mauve, with thin ribbons of cloud catching the last warm light across the upper third.
In the foreground, spinifex clumps and low desert scrub in olive and rust sit on bare red sand, with a single small tree breaking the skyline near the base of the rock. The mood is quiet and still, a wide open desert scene held in one short moment of colour.
A strong single piece above a sofa in a living room, or facing the bed in a main bedroom where the warm reds work with timber, leather and linen. It suits neutral or clay-toned walls, and pairs well with rattan, terracotta pots and other Australian landscape prints in a hallway or home office.
