A single slender tree with a dark, leaning trunk stands at the centre of a small clearing, its crown thick with pale pink, peach and orange blossom. The blossom is built up in short, chunky strokes that catch the light and give the canopy a raised, textured look, like thick oil paint on linen.
Behind it the sky shifts from lilac and teal at the upper left to a warm yellow glow at the right, where two small birds fly. A band of grey mist drifts across the left foreground, while the ground is a mix of plum, maroon and brown grass with patches of green and yellow, and a yellow-green tree on the far left.
