Tall lily stems rise through a pale aqua ground in this portrait-format abstract floral. Flat blocks of cobalt, turquoise and teal make up the leaves and petals, while loose pencil-style outlines trace the lily blooms, stamens and thin branching stalks over the top.
Small patches of sand beige and touches of violet buds break up the blues. Drips run down the lower left edge and the background is chalky and scraped, with white areas showing through. The effect is part botanical sketch, part colour-field abstract, with a cool, airy mood.
