Boogie Nights | Retro Cat Lounge Singer Canvas Wall Art Print

About Boogie Nights

A hairless sphynx cat's head sits on a human body dressed in a seventies checkerboard suit of olive, mustard and plum squares, worn over an open cream shirt with flared trousers and tan shoes. The cat has odd-coloured eyes, one blue and one amber, plus a neat dark moustache. One hand rests on the hip while the other hangs loose beside a chrome vintage stage microphone on a tall stand. Two bare bulbs dangle from above on thin cords.

Behind the figure a deep magenta velvet curtain falls in heavy vertical folds, its pile catching pink and purple highlights. The floor is a mottled blue carpet with a floral skirting strip, and a torn paper label reading "Utopia" is pinned at the lower right. The image is a photographic collage with crisp fabric detail and a deadpan, comic character, part cabaret poster and part vintage portrait.

Suits a living room, home bar or games room where a bit of humour is welcome, and works in a home office or teenager's bedroom. The magenta curtain lifts grey and charcoal walls, and the olive suit ties in with timber furniture, brass lamps and velvet seating. Group it with other quirky animal portraits.
