About Bright City
A long band of high-rise towers runs across the centre of the canvas, blurred at the top where pale blue and white haze swallows the tallest spires. Beneath them a dense row of buildings is blocked in with dark navy, plum and teal, broken by vertical dashes of ochre and yellow that read as lit windows. At the waterline a hot seam of orange, scarlet and gold glows brightest, then drips downward in short vertical smears as reflections on the harbour.
The lower third dissolves into thick white and grey scraped paint, suggesting choppy water and spray rather than describing it. Edges are deliberately soft, with buildings drawn by stacked knife marks and dry-brushed streaks instead of outlines. The painting's character sits between calm and charged: cool misty blues hold most of the surface while the narrow strip of fiery light gives the city its pulse.
The wide, low format suits a spot above a three-seat sofa, a sideboard, or a long hallway wall. Cool greys and white walls let the blues settle and the orange lights carry. Works well with black metal, glass and pale timber in apartments, open-plan living rooms, reception areas and boardrooms. Browse more panoramic wall art, streetscapes, multi-coloured art.
