About Blend
A woman lies across the canvas on her side, seen from above and behind, her body broken up by the same diagonal stripes that cover the whole surface. Black bands alternate with pink, red, mint green, pale blue, violet, orange and yellow, running corner to corner. Her hair reads as a red and pink mass at the upper left, her bent knees and hips fill the centre, and a raised hand appears at the lower right against the yellow band. Edges are clean and hard, the paint flat and even.
The effect is a camouflage puzzle: the figure only separates from the background where the stripe colours shift slightly across her skin. It is a bold, graphic painting built on colour rather than shading.
Suits a living room with white or charcoal walls, a hallway that needs a colour anchor, or a bedroom above a plain bed head. Works with mid-century furniture, black metal frames and neutral linen.
