About Cotton Candy
Soft clouds of colour bleed into one another across a landscape canvas. A hot pink patch sits upper left inside grey haze, a pale white core spreads through the centre, and mint turquoise sweeps from the top edge down to the lower middle. Bright pink fills the upper right with a strip of acid yellow-green at the right margin. On the left, a block of cobalt blue ends in a curtain of thin drips, blue over pink, falling onto a wedge of soft yellow at the bottom corner.
The lower right holds the weight of the picture: charcoal and black strokes, a smear of white, and deep ultramarine blue running to the edge. Surfaces are thinly washed and blurred, with no hard outline anywhere, so the drips and the dark passage carry the only sharp marks. The character is light and airy at the top, grounded and slightly raw at the base.
Suits a bedroom above a bed, a girl's room, a hallway or a pale lounge wall where the pink and mint can breathe. Works with white or light grey walls, blonde timber, linen upholstery and brass or chrome lamps. Hang it alone rather than in a group so the soft colour transitions stay readable.
