About Dark Energy
Colour spreads across the canvas the way ink spreads through water. Deep navy and near-black pools sit at the left and right edges, feathering into pale blue at their fringes, while a broad band of hot magenta and pink runs up through the centre and blooms into a soft crown of rose and white near the top. A small burst of orange and yellow flares on the left of centre, with a thin yellow drip climbing to the upper edge. Mint green and cool grey fill the background around the colour.
Edges are soft and organic throughout, with fine branching tendrils where wet pigment has crept into wet ground, and only a few crisp marks where paint has pulled away. The overall character is energetic but cool, a bright collision of pinks and blues held steady by quiet mint and grey fields.
Works in a white or pale grey living room where it can supply all the colour, above a low sideboard or a neutral linen sofa. Suits a bedroom with mint or blush bedding, or a hallway that needs one bright point. Pairs with brass, blonde timber, glass and plain upholstery rather than busy patterns.
