About Southwest Kilim Chevron
A single large diamond sits dead centre, built from stepped triangles in rust red, olive green and mustard, with a small outlined diamond at its core filled with fine hatched lines. From this centre the pattern fans outward in mirrored chevrons and stepped bars that run to the left and right edges, adding teal at the far corners. The background is a whitewashed timber board surface, with horizontal seams and grain showing through the thin white wash and faint knots along the planks.
The colours are printed with a dry, faded quality, as if the shapes were stencilled onto old weathered boards and rubbed back. It reads as calm and orderly rather than loud, the strict symmetry balanced by the rough timber texture underneath.
Suits a beach house hallway, a rumpus or kids room, or above a bed with linen in white and clay. It works over a timber sideboard in a dining room and sits well with rattan, woven baskets, terracotta pots and striped rugs. The wide shape fills a sofa wall or a run of wall above a bench seat.
