About Calm World Map Grid
A full world map sits centred on a soft grey-blue ground, drawn in landscape format. The continents are filled with rough horizontal stripes in cream, white, pale sand and light taupe, so each landmass reads as a band of broken lines rather than a solid shape. Asia carries the warmest tones, with beige and biscuit stripes, while the Americas, Africa and Australia stay closer to white and pale grey. Thin white grid lines run vertically and horizontally across the whole image, crossing both ocean and land.
The background has a lightly mottled, chalky finish, like faded pigment on paper, which keeps the blue from looking flat. Small initials appear in the lower right corner. The overall character is quiet and decorative: a map read as pattern and colour rather than as a navigational tool, restrained enough to sit in a room without competing with anything else.
Suits a home office above a desk, a hallway, or a bedroom wall over the bedhead. The dusty blue and sand tones work with white or pale grey walls, oak and rattan furniture, linen bedding and woven baskets.
