About Candy Girl
A woman stands centre on a faintly checked oatmeal background, wearing a strapless black dress with a gathered bodice, a wide sash and a layered tulle hem that flares just below the knee. In place of her head sits a small vintage television set, its red screen showing a black ampersand, with a scatter of dark specks rising from the top. A red heart-shaped balloon floats to her right, and a moth with patterned wings hovers near her shoulder above two small butterflies.
Cut-paper flowers crowd the corners: cabbage roses, a sunflower with a girl's face at its centre, calla lilies, peonies and dark green foliage. At the top left, cropped hands pass a small parcel between them, and large weathered letters sit faintly at the upper right. The surface carries a printed paper grain throughout. The overall character is playful and slightly odd, a vintage scrapbook page given a surreal twist.
Suits a dressing room, bedroom or hallway with a vintage or eclectic leaning, and works in a home office or teenager's room. Pairs with dark timber furniture, brass fittings, floral cushions and other framed collage or fashion prints. The pale checked background keeps it easy against cream, blush or sage walls.
