Six timber Adirondack chairs sit in a single row on a strip of bright green lawn, all seen from behind and facing the sea. They alternate blue, white and red, and the slatted backs and wide armrests are sharp and clear against the soft background.
Above them the sea and sky merge into a pale grey fog, with only a faint line of white surf showing near the horizon. Almost two thirds of the photograph is empty, muted sky, so the saturated chairs and grass are the only strong colour. A low timber ledge runs behind the chairs.
