About Ember Fault Line
A square abstract built in layers, with a wall-like ground of sand, grey and warm brown running from edge to edge. Near the top right a black and white burst fans outward in thin splayed strokes, as though paint has been flicked from a single point. Below it sit blocks of scarlet, one thick and scraped, others pulled into long horizontal bars. A white column runs down the left side, streaked with drips, while black trickles fall vertically through the lower half.
The surface is heavily worked, with grit, ridges and dried runs that catch light differently across the canvas. Its character is industrial and weathered, the red acting as the one hot note against a cool, dusty field.
Suits a living room with concrete, timber or linen finishes, and works above a low sideboard or a charcoal sofa. The red blocks pick up rust cushions, leather or terracotta pots.
