About Red Spiral Disc
A large ochre-gold disc fills the left of the square canvas, ringed by a dark charcoal outline and scored with fine cracks like the end grain of a cut log. At its centre a thick scarlet spiral has been dragged in wet loops, with white breaking through the ridges of paint. To the right, a smaller white circle sits half in frame against grey, and between them float a small red ring, a short bar and two rough red dashes. A dark band anchors the lower edge.
The background is built from scraped layers of warm grey, taupe and off-white with vertical drips running down the right side. It reads as quiet and weathered until the red spiral pulls the eye straight to the centre-left.
Suits a living room with grey or stone-coloured walls, a timber sideboard, or a hallway that needs one point of colour. The ochre and red pick up leather, brick and rust-toned cushions, while the scraped greys sit well with concrete floors, black metal frames and pale oak furniture.
