About Chic Lady II
A woman is shown from the bare shoulders up against a solid black ground, her wide-brimmed hat reading as a single black shape so only the lower half of her face is visible. Red lips part slightly to show a glimpse of teeth, and a small pearl earring sits below a sweep of dark brown hair. A double strand of ivory pearls curves around her neck. At right, a hand with bright red nails lifts a shallow coupe of pale champagne, the glass drawn in soft translucent greys.
The figure is built from flat, smooth areas of colour with gentle shading along the jaw, neck and shoulder, so the surface looks clean rather than textured. Black negative space does most of the work, letting the cream skin tone, red accents and pearls carry the image. A small signature reading "Kelly" sits in the lower right corner. The mood is poised and knowing, all suggestion and no fuss.
Suits a dining room or bar wall where the black ground reads well against dark timber or deep paint, and works in a dressing room, ensuite or ladies' powder room.
