About Dusk Palette Harbour Skyline
A long band of city towers sits across the centre of the canvas, painted as flat vertical blocks in plum, charcoal, brick red and grey. A taller pale tower with a pointed cap stands slightly right of centre and breaks the skyline. Behind it the sky is washed in soft blue-green with a warm yellow glow low down between the buildings. Along the waterline the paint changes to short horizontal strokes of cobalt, orange, white and mustard, suggesting lit windows and moving water rather than exact detail.
The character is loose and quick: buildings are scraped and dragged with a knife, edges left rough, and the foreground water dissolves into pale green and drifting vertical smears. It reads as a city at dusk seen from across a harbour, recognisable in shape but never literal.
Suits a long wall above a sofa, a sideboard or a bed head where the panoramic shape can stretch out. Works in modern apartments and open-plan living rooms with grey, white or timber furniture, and picks up cobalt cushions, ochre throws or brass lamps. Also good above a boardroom credenza or in a wide hallway. Browse more panoramic wall art, modern art, the Statton Collection.
