About Cleveland Pier Brisbane
A double row of weathered timber posts runs from the lower right corner deep into the frame, the remains of an old jetty stranded on exposed tidal flats. Slabs of grey decking still bridge some of the posts; broken planks, rocks and clumps of silt lie scattered around their bases. Shallow pools of water sit between ridges of wet mud, catching pink and gold light. A thin dark treeline marks the far shore, with the sun just above it as a small bright disc.
Above, the sky shifts from deep violet and slate cloud at the top edge through mauve to a band of hot orange on the horizon, with torn pink cloud streaks scattered across it. The mood is quiet and slightly bleak, a working shoreline at low tide rather than a postcard beach.
Suits a coastal or beach house living room, a bedroom with grey and charcoal linen, or a home office wall above a desk.
