About Climber
A tall yellow field fills the canvas, split by a diagonal band of deeper ochre that runs from the upper left to the lower right corner. Below centre, a cluster of figures appears to be pulled apart into slivers: a face turned sideways, a bare shoulder in warm brown, a crouched form in teal and a small blue shape at the base. Around them, narrow triangles of grey, pale cream and dusty blue fan out like broken glass, and a long grey spike rises above the group.
character it has is one of collapse caught mid-movement, with the figures dissolving into flat geometry while the yellow ground stays completely still. The surface reads as smooth in the open areas and densely worked in the small central cluster.
The large yellow field suits a white or pale grey wall in a living room, hallway or home office where it can be the single focus.
