About Mist of Colours
The upper two thirds of the canvas is a soft blend of mint green, pale aqua and rose pink, with a lime and yellow patch spreading across the top edge and a warmer green block at the upper right. Small clusters of thick white, hot pink and orange paint sit like blossom in three places: top centre, upper right and centre left. Thin runs of wet paint trail down from these clusters into the pale field below, leaving fine vertical threads.
Along the bottom the mood changes: charcoal black and grey run downwards in dense curtains of drips, broken by white and pale blue blocks, with a patch of cobalt blue at the lower left. The painting reads as light held above something darker, bright and calm at the top, weathered and shadowed underneath.
Suits a living room with white or pale grey walls, above a low sofa or sideboard, and works in bedrooms where the mint and pink keep the room soft. Pairs with pale timber, linen upholstery, brass lamps and indoor greenery. The dark lower band anchors it beside black-framed furniture or a charcoal rug.
