A symmetrical ornament fills the square in cream on black. A central spine of small rings and teardrop shapes runs down the middle, with a tulip-like finial at the top. Two large curling arms sweep out from a ring at the centre and end in tight spirals, each with a small dot at its eye.
The black ground is worn and slightly streaky, with a fine linen-like weave showing through the cream. Behind the main scrolls, faint grey damask motifs sit inside a rectangular border, and more scrollwork is cropped at the left and right edges. The look is a flat graphic pattern, closer to a digital design than a drawing of real flowers.
