A cross section of a tree trunk fills most of the square, printed in a single deep crimson on a plain white background. Concentric growth rings spread out from a centre just right of middle, and the ring texture looks grainy and stamped, like an ink rubbing of cut timber.
Long cracks split the disc and run from the outer edge toward the core, leaving thin white gaps through the red. Small white flecks and worn patches break up the ink, mainly on the left and lower edges. The disc is cropped by the top and right sides, so it reads as a bold, graphic abstract of wood grain.
