A single daffodil is seen from behind and below against a clean white background, its curved stem rising from the bottom edge. The petals are pale grey and almost transparent, with fine veins visible across each one, as though lit from behind or captured in an X-ray.
The ruffled central trumpet is the darkest part of the image, a dense black frill that sits in front of the six petals. Tones fall away from this core to soft greys at the petal tips, and the outer edges are outlined in thin dark lines. The result reads as a monochrome photograph with a delicate, glassy quality.
