About Dainty Duo
Two vessels sit side by side on a pale grey ledge against a warm ochre wall. The left is round, almost spherical, banded from cream at the top through rust to a near-black base. The right is taller and squared off with sloped shoulders, in tan speckled brown, crossed by a cream stripe above a block of deep maroon. From each rises a thin dark stem carrying a single white orchid bloom, painted in thick opaque white with soft grey shading in the petal folds.
The ochre background is worked with fine scratched and combed lines that catch the light, while the vases carry a gritty, speckled surface like fired clay. The mood is quiet and balanced, built on two simple shapes and two pale flowers against warm earth colour.
Suits a dining room, entry hall or bedroom done in warm neutrals, and works above a sideboard or console in oak or walnut. Pairs with linen, rattan, terracotta pots and ceramic vessels.
