A glass vase of mixed flowers sits at the centre of this square watercolour. Large white daisies with yellow centres open on the right, while crimson and pink blooms crowd the left. Yellow flowers flecked with paint spatter fill the top edge, set among loose green leaves and stems that show through the water in the vase.
Fruit anchors the lower half. A red apple with a short dark stem sits at the bottom centre, an whole orange rests on the left and an orange segment sits at the far corner. Beneath them a blue cloth with yellow rose motifs and a patterned border runs on the diagonal across a pale yellow ground. Washes bleed softly, with white paper left bare for highlights.
