About Dark Blue Botanical II
A single bulb plant is drawn against a plain white ground, rendered entirely in shades of indigo and blue-grey. Three bell-shaped flowers nod from slender arching stems, each with six pointed petals opening downward and a small cluster of dark stamens showing beneath. Two closed buds sit in tight papery sheaths. Long ribbon-like leaves sweep up from the base, crossing and folding over one another, their lengthwise ribs shaded in fine parallel lines that read as satin.
The drawing has the measured, specimen-plate feel of an old botanical study, with the strongest tone saved for the broad leaves and the flowers left almost white. Nothing is stylised or cropped, so the plant sits calmly in its own space with plenty of breathing room around it.
Suits bedrooms, bathrooms, hallways and home offices where walls are white, off-white or pale grey. It works with blue and white ceramics, rattan, linen bedding and dark timber.
