About Dive
A single figure falls head-first from the top right of the canvas towards the lower left, arms stretched together above the head and legs trailing behind in a long taut line. The body is built from cream, bone and pale gold tones with red accents at the hips and shoulder. Behind it the upper third is streaked blue sky, the middle band is dense black, and the base is a pale timber-coloured strip. The word DIVE is scrawled in rough dark capitals across the sky.
Drips run vertically through the black band and into the pale base, and flecks of white spray break away from the diver's torso. The character of the work is raw and kinetic, more about speed and momentum than anatomy, with the lettering giving it a poster-like directness.
Suits a home office, gym wall, teenager's room or hallway where a tall narrow space needs a vertical focus. It works with black metal furniture, blue linen and pale timber, and sits well in beach house and coastal-modern rooms. Pair it with swimming or surf photography, or hang it alone above a bench seat.
