A lone swimmer plunges head-first down the centre of a tall portrait canvas, body stretched in a long diagonal from the feet at lower left to the hands at upper right. The skin is pale cream with loose strokes of red at the hips, where the trunks sit, and a second flash of red near the knee. Fine white splashes trail beside the figure.
Across the top, the word "DIVE" is scrawled in thin black strokes with ragged, uneven letters, set against a sky of pale and violet blues. Below it a heavy band of near-black ink rolls across the middle, bleeding into drips. The bottom third is a streaky wheat-gold ground, with long black runs trickling down. The feel is a bold, expressive sports poster.
