About Downtown Melbourne at Night
A wide night view across Federation Square towards the Melbourne CBD. In the lower left, a cluster of bright orange fabric canopies shelters outdoor tables and diners, their peaks lit from beneath. Beyond the open paved forecourt, a lit pedestrian bridge crosses the frame, and the green copper dome and sandstone clock tower of Flinders Street Station glow gold on the right. Behind them, office towers rise in blue, violet and white light against a deep navy sky, with overhead wires strung across the upper half.
The mood is calm rather than busy: long-exposure smoothness on the paving, small figures scattered across the square, and saturated city light held against a clear dark sky.
Suits a home office, hallway or bedroom where a darker, cooler image works well. The deep navy sits comfortably with charcoal, grey and timber furniture, while the orange canopies pick up tan leather or copper lighting.
