About Equine Excellence
A horse's head fills the left two thirds of this portrait format artwork, turned in profile with ears pricked and muzzle angled down to the lower right. The dark silhouette is broken open with patches of magenta, cobalt blue, emerald green, yellow and orange, overlaid with rows of white dots, small stars and short dashes that trace the cheek strap and noseband of a bridle. The off-white background carries scattered rust red rings and solid dots of varying size, a few drips running down between them.
The mood is loud and graphic: a stencil-like animal portrait built from saturated colour blocks and dotted linework, with enough black left in the mane and jaw to hold the shape together.
Works in a teenager's bedroom, a home office or a living room with white or pale grey walls that let the rust rings read clearly. Pairs with black furniture, raw timber and other pop art animal prints. Also suits a beach house hallway or a kids' playroom wanting one strong colour hit. The quality of the work is ten out of ten. The piece was affordable and the turnaround time was quite quick. What you see is what you get. I’ll definitely be getting my next painting from Direct Art Australia.
My wife already had a couple of pieces of custom ordered paintings she had collected throughout the last few years and with your large selection to choose from she found the perfect complimentary piece to finish off her room.
Great painting. Brightens up my living room.
