A weathered timber jetty runs in from the left edge of the frame, its row of rough posts shrinking toward a short end point in the middle distance. The boards are grey and cracked, and a few tufts of dry grass sit in the bottom left corner. The jetty is the only man-made object in the scene.
Beyond it the water is almost completely still and holds the sky in soft reflection. A large cumulus cloud glows pale gold at its edges, with shafts of light falling through the haze on the right. The sky shifts from slate blue to peach and lilac, over a low, hazy line of hills on the horizon. A digitally blended photograph with a muted, dreamy finish.
