About Facets of Life III
Three dark olive cypress trees stand at different depths across a landscape built from flat, angled planes of colour. The tallest tree sits at the left, its narrow spire rising from a deep rust-red field, with two smaller cypresses stepping back towards the centre. Fields run in wedges of cream, pale yellow, warm ochre and terracotta, separated by clean diagonal edges rather than drawn lines. A narrow band of soft grey sits along the top as sky. Each tree throws a long, hard-edged shadow to the left.
The paint is laid on dry and slightly granular, so the colour blocks show canvas grain and faint brush drag instead of a glossy finish. It is a quiet, geometric reading of farmland at low sun, more about shape and warmth than detail.
Suits warm-toned living rooms, hallways and dining areas with timber, rattan or linen furniture. The rust and ochre blocks sit well against white, putty or clay-coloured walls, and pair with terracotta pots, jute rugs and brass lamps.
