A single square film frame sits in the middle of the canvas, with a large black numeral 1 at its centre. Around the number are two thin white circles, one inside the other, and a fine black crosshair runs across the frame both ways. A pale wedge in the upper left corner suggests the sweep of a countdown clock.
The frame surface is blotchy, in cream, sepia and tan, with peeling, cracked patches that look like aged emulsion. Around it the film border is near black and covered in fine white scratches. Six rounded sprocket holes run down each side in pale grey and cream. The look is that of a well-used cinema leader.
