About Floating Vases III
A row of tall vase and bottle silhouettes fills this square composition against a pale cream ground. Shapes range from a narrow chocolate-brown bottle at the left to wavy, scalloped profiles in olive and lime, a slim teal trumpet form, a wide petrol-blue vessel with a rippled edge and a dark forest bottle at the right. A low, round-bellied vase in soft khaki sits in front of the group, its short neck breaking the line of taller forms behind it.
Where the silhouettes overlap the colour deepens, as if each shape were cut from tinted glass, producing new olive, moss and slate tones at the crossings. The surface is flat and even, with clean hard edges and no visible texture beyond the weave of the canvas. It reads as a calm, graphic still life: orderly, mid-century in feel, and quiet in mood despite the number of colours at work.
Suits dining rooms above a sideboard, kitchen and breakfast nooks, or a home office wall. It works with walnut and teak furniture, rattan, cream or sage walls, and ceramic vases in similar olive and teal glazes. Hang it as a square single piece, or pair it with another vase print for symmetry. Browse more blue art, brown and earthy art, or read Art above the bed: what size and how high.
