A long timber pier runs from the right edge of the frame toward the horizon, its supports crossed with diagonal bracing. Two green-roofed pavilions sit along the deck, the smaller one at the far end. The perspective pulls the eye down the length of the structure and out over open water.
In the foreground, a long exposure turns the incoming surf into soft white streaks across dark, wet sand. The sky moves from deep blue at the top to pale yellow and peach near the horizon, with a faint jet trail at upper left. It is a photograph with cool water tones against a warm sunrise glow.
