About Glee
A single child rides a teal scooter across a plain gold-ochre ground. She wears a blue and white vertically striped smock over long red sleeves, with brown boots and stockings, and one leg swings out behind her in a kick. Her face is simplified to a pointed nose, two dark almond eyes and a small red mouth, framed by a mass of curly blonde hair. The scooter runs on two flat yellow discs with a dark dot at each hub, and a thin green stem joins the handlebar to the front wheel.
The background is worked in soft creased washes of tan and khaki, like aged paper, with faint crackle lines catching the light. The whole image has a quiet, storybook character: still and softly lit, yet the tilted body and kicked-back leg give it real motion.
Suits a child's bedroom, nursery or playroom, and works just as well in a hallway or reading nook. The warm ochre ground sits comfortably with timber furniture, cane baskets, cream walls and linen bedding, while the teal and yellow pick up bright toys, rugs and cushions without clashing.
