About Golden Gate Bridge in Fog
A portrait-format photograph of the Golden Gate Bridge taken from the northern headland, close in on the first tower. The orange-red steel rises through low fog so that the upper crossbeam dissolves into flat white sky, while the second tower is only a faint outline further along the span. Vertical suspender cables form fine pale lines across the frame, and two main cables sweep down from the top left corner. Below, the roadway carries small cars, and a grey concrete pier sits on a rocky, grass-covered cliff above pale green-grey water.
The mood is quiet and overcast rather than dramatic: soft, even light, muted colour, and almost no shadow. The single strong note of orange-red against grey gives the image its weight, and the fog crops the structure so the bridge feels far larger than the frame can hold.
Suits a home office, hallway or living room with a contemporary, slightly industrial leaning. The muted grey and white sit well against white or pale grey walls, timber flooring and black metal shelving, and the orange-red picks up terracotta cushions or tan leather. Works as one of a pair with other city or travel prints. Browse more multi-coloured art, red art, brown and earthy art, or read Art above the bed: what size and how high.
