Tall blades of oat grass rise in a loose bundle against a clean white background, rendered in an X-ray style that makes every stem look translucent. Four feathery seed heads curve in different directions, each made of tightly layered, dark, angled bracts running along a thin stalk.
The palette is limited to charcoal, soft grey and white. Overlapping blades show through one another as pale grey ribbons, while the seed heads read as the darkest, densest marks. A small handwritten signature sits at the lower right. The tall vertical format stresses height and the long stems.
