Two broad grey mountains fill the middle of this portrait-format landscape, the nearer peak on the right sloping down in long, smooth planes. A band of dusty pink and brown hills sits in front, and a thin streak of white snow runs along its upper ridge. The brushwork is loose and flat, with visible strokes in the rock faces.
A blue river curves from the bottom edge back toward the hills, broken by streaks of white, navy and pale blue that suggest moving water. Either bank is patched with olive, cream, mustard and small flicks of orange-red and coral. Dark green conifers cluster on the far left. Above, the sky is soft pale blue, scrubbed with white cloud in a dry, textured finish.
