Four seagulls stand spaced apart on wet sand in the lower right of the frame, each with a faint reflection in the thin sheet of water beneath it. The beach curves away toward a low horizon, where a few dark rocks sit on the far right and a soft line of surf breaks in the distance.
The sky takes up most of the picture. Large clouds catch warm gold and peach light at the top left and centre, while pale blue, lemon and pink bands soften toward the horizon. The water repeats those tones in calm blues and creams. It is a photograph with a gentle, dreamy palette.
