The lead elephant is largest and sits at the right, while the others step down toward the lower left.
A rider sits on the top elephant's back, dressed in a white tunic, pale blue trousers and a red sash, with a bright red turban. He holds a long thin stick upright. Across the top, blue block letters read "CARL HAGENBECK", with the small word "CARL" set inside the H. The background is a solid mustard yellow, and a tiny printer's mark sits at lower left, with initials at lower right.
