About Harvest
Six pale gold pears sit shoulder to shoulder in a shallow amber bowl, each with a long wavy stem that curls upward into a panel of yellow-white light. The bowl rests on a dark brown ledge that cuts straight across the canvas. A broad red column runs down the left edge with thin green spirals drawn over it, and a matching red band on the right carries darker scroll curls. Below the ledge, a green square-tiled grid fills the lower third, its lines drawn in rust.
The mood is warm and orderly, built from flat blocks of colour rather than shadow. Paint is applied in visible strokes, with the pears modelled in soft ochre and olive against a scratched green wall, and a small signature in the lower right corner.
Suits a kitchen, dining nook or breakfast area where warm reds and greens can lift a plain wall. Works beside timber shelving, terracotta pots and woven placemats, or above a sideboard in a country-style dining room. The portrait shape fits narrow wall sections between a doorway and a cabinet.
