The square image is divided into four equal blocks, each holding the same single hibiscus bloom photographed face on and recoloured. Top left is olive and sage green, top right deep magenta and pink, bottom left golden yellow with amber shadows, bottom right cobalt and pale blue. Every flower shows five broad overlapping petals with fine radiating veins, a dark throat and a pale stamen column tipped with a cluster of anthers that catches the light.
